Unanswerable? Dunno about that...
True, yes, but the point is that it's probably more likely that you can have the correct focal length with a few zooms than with a similar weight and bulk of primes.
Don't misunderstand me, I prefer to use primes, but this is an area where zooms have an undoubted advantage.

"In such circumstances, if you’ve not got the appropriate lens available, you’re stuffed."

Best (and unanswerable) response surely has to be that's equally true if you don't have the correct zoom range also.

Anyway, find pictures to suit the lenses you do have. :)

I posted some bullet points for those looking to an excuse not to buy a 5DMkII

Bullet points for the moaning fuckers to use as a reason not to get the 5D MkII:

    * Only 3.9 fps - FFS I’ll have to get a 50D now cos it’s slightly quicker.
    * Too many MP - I mean I’ll have to get a bigger PC
    * I have a Camcorder already I don’t need this
    * Only 9 AF points
    * Doesn’t focus at f8, but neither does the 50D, but I’ll still get that
    * No built in flash - the killah feature - I’ll have to get a 50D
    * Not totally waterproof. I need to use it in a bath.
    * Those photosites/microlenses cant resolve the detail enough. The image quality will be poor. I have to by a 10D instead (actually no idea what the fuck I’ve just wrote is).
    * It’s not a 1D in a 5D shell, as a protest I’ll have to buy a 50D
    * RRP is tooooooo expensive
    * Only one memory card slot.
    * It doesn’t have the 1D focusing technology
    * Right, can we start bitching about the 5D MkIII yet?
    * Ad nauseam

Fucking Incompetent Arseholes?

I've been a watcher of F1 for as long as I can remember and have always avoided being a fan(atic) of any team since the disappointment of seeing "my" driver/team getting beaten seems a bit of a waste of energy. This latest stupid decision by a trio of incompetents (a Frenchman who's never raced, a Kenyan who thinks long hair and an unshaven chin shouldn't be allowed in motorsport and a Belgian track official who's scared that his track could lose FIA or F1 status (again)) has seriously made me think about whether i want to carry on watching what looks more and more like a scripwritten parade run bt a greedy, magalomaniac dwarf and an (?ex?) Nazi sypathising failed politician who rather likes hitting women (and being hit by them!).

It's not too bad as Cities go. Still changing as well. Plenty of new builds currently on the cards or in progress. Though it has slowed a little with current economic climate.

I'm in two minds about them. Yes, they can be useful. I dropped my old Nikon FM2 once ... lens down onto a rock (not deliberately!), and the only damage was a massive scratch on the the UV filter.

On the other hand, why stick a (relatively) cheap piece of glass in front of your decent lens, adding a (relatively) crappy layer?
