The Conversion

by on Sep.09, 2009, under Info

So, what did I have done?
I was going to use ACS, as they appeared to be the only game in town (or rather the UK), and results in AP and WDC are very good. But then my Nikon-toting pal showed me the results from the D300 he’s just had converted by another outfit, Protech Photo Repairs in Uckfield, which are also very good. And it’s £170, plus £8.50 return postage, as against the £250 plus postage and VAT that ACS charge. So my 30D is going went to  Uckfield today
Apart from cost, the other clincher is that they can do an 830nm conversion as well as 720nm – and a 665nm job, which might  be of interest to astrophotographers.
Nice to deal with by email, and kept me in touch throughout.
